Technical Expert

Roles and responsibilities

Under direct supervision, provides technical and operational expertise to external customer in a professional manner. This is the entry level position for this discipline. Performs assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Assists in the delivery of Completion, Products & Services (CPS) services. Assists in pre- planning, job execution, and post job analysis to ensure project success and efficiency. Participates in developmental programs to accelerate learning and to increase abilities relative to the successful implementation of PSL objectives. Requires the ability to analyze well site data in real time, using complex technologies such as software simulators and the latest electrical and mechanical equipment. Undergraduate degree required – acceptable degrees are: All engineering, Engineering Technology, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, & Chemistry.
1. Technical Consultation and Guidance
Providing Expert Advice: Offer technical consultation and expert advice on specialized areas of technology or processes within the organization or project.
Problem-Solving: Analyze complex technical problems and provide solutions based on expert knowledge and experience.
Innovative Solutions: Recommend innovative approaches to overcome technical challenges, improve processes, and optimize efficiency.
2. Project Support
Technical Leadership: Lead technical teams in the design, development, and execution of projects. Provide direction on technical requirements and challenges.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies, assessments, or evaluations for projects and initiatives to determine the technical approach and resources needed.
Project Reviews: Participate in project review meetings to assess the technical aspects of ongoing work, ensuring alignment with objectives and quality standards.
3. Research and Development
Advanced Research: Stay updated on the latest developments in the field and conduct research to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into the organization’s work.
Product Development: Assist in the development of new products, solutions, or systems by providing technical expertise and ensuring high-quality engineering and design standards.
Prototyping and Testing: Contribute to the creation of prototypes or the testing of new technologies and systems to ensure that they meet technical specifications.
