Job Description
Our client requires the services of a Software Engineer (Senior) Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

POSITION: Contract until December 2027
EXPERIENCE: 68 Years of related working experience
COMMENCEMENT: February 2025
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field or similar qualification
- 6 years experience as an SAP ABAP (Full Stack) developer
- 2 years experience as an SAP ABAP development in logistics
- 2 years experience as an SAP functional consultant in logistics / operations
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Technical:
- At least 6 years experience in ABAP Development (Backend)
- At least 6 years experience with ABAP Objects (Automated testing / APBA Unit tests)
- At least 4 years experience in ABAP Development (Frontend e.g. Dynpro WebDynpro SAP UI5)
- At least 4 years experience with distribution technology ODATA / Idoc
- Functional:
- At least 2 years experience in Material Management (MM) focus on Material Planning
- At least 2 years experience with SAP Transport / Transport management (Solman CHARM)
- Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Experience with automated testing in SAP (e.g. Tosca)
- Experience with Hana / S4 technology (Live MRP) understanding of CDS views
- Agile Framework experience e.g. scrum
- Basic understanding of Cloud solution integrating with an SAP S/4 system
- Basic understanding of Streaming technologies such as Kafka
ROLE:
- Technical and functional refinement and breakdown of requirements (Epics User Stories) in Material Planning for all European as well as for the Overseas BMW plants (e.g. China)
- Development of new Material Planning functionality (in S/4 or ECC) Backend / Frontend
- Testing
- Automated Testing ABAP Unit test and front end / E2E tests (Tosca)
- Manual Testing own development as well as other manual (functional) tests
- Business Object definition & extraction and distribution across the entire BMW plant landscape (SAP and NonSAP)
- Migration and Rollout for Material Planning (ECC > S4)
- Operations Problem Management
- Operations (3rd level) and on occasion 2nd level (24/7) for Material Planning
- Operations 3rd and 2nd level cross logistics (e.g. Material Master)
