Roles and responsibilities
1. Safe Vehicle Operation
- Safely operate the vehicle, following traffic laws, speed limits, and road safety guidelines.
- Ensure the vehicle is always in good working condition and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Operate different types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, or heavy machinery, depending on the job requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with passengers or clients.
2. Route Planning and Navigation
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries or arrivals.
- Use GPS or maps to navigate, ensuring safe and prompt travel.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as necessary to avoid delays (e.g., road closures, accidents, or construction).
3. Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure that the vehicle is safe and operational.
- Check and maintain oil, tires, fuel, and other essential vehicle components.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, ensuring that it meets company standards.
- Report any vehicle damage or maintenance needs to the supervisor and schedule necessary repairs or service.
4. Loading and Unloading Cargo (If Applicable)
- Load goods, materials, or products into the vehicle securely to prevent damage during transport.
- Unload cargo at the destination, ensuring proper handling to prevent loss or damage.
- May need to assist with the loading and unloading process, particularly when dealing with heavy or bulky items.
5. Timely Delivery or Transport
- Ensure that deliveries are made on time and as scheduled, whether transporting goods, passengers, or materials.
- Maintain punctuality, particularly for passenger transport or scheduled deliveries.
