Need Local candidates to VA only.
Candidate MUST possess PMP certification through PMI or VITAs PM certification. No other certification qualifies.
Candidate must also be able to work onsite 23 days/week.
Contractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through endclients client Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking
Responsibilities:
Oversee Initiatives
Oversee Information Technology initiatives for assigned programs.
Assign resources to project teams to complete deliverables.
IT Policy Compliance
Ensure compliance with endclients client and VITA policies standards and guidelines governing IT computer systems.
Program Maintenance
Oversee work and staff in the assigned program to ensure consistent process and quality standards are implemented.
Execute Program
Supervise staff supporting assigned ITD function(s). Responsibilities include supervision of staff in execution of daytoday processes tied to the specific ITD function. Perform managerial and technical work ranging from simple to moderate difficulty. Interact with peer supervisors and the IT Portfolio Managers to meet customer needs.
Manage Programs and Projects
Plan oversee and implement delivery of technology projects or services. Oversee staff assignments and priorities. Develop training plans for team members. Develop and implement procedures processes and best practices. Provide strategic planning for program areas and recommend new technologies.
Strategic Management
Work with peers and subordinates to define strategic direction for assigned technology program. Evaluate tools and prioritize work efforts with stakeholders from ITD and business units.
Business Process Improvement
Identify business processes that may be improved with technology solutions. Create processes and tools to facilitate increased efficiencies.
Reporting
Provide status reports on project plans timelines schedules and progress updates. Participate in strategic planning for programs projects or systems.
Ensure Compliance
Provide compliance management and ensure that staff comply with required VITA DHRM endclients client and ITD policies processes and procedures.
Improve Processes
Responsible for tracking operational metrics on assigned ITD functions. Apply those metrics to identify and improve function specific processes.

Current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years experience managing largescale projects involving technology procurement
Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management principles.
Balance business/technical background with sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to technology teams.
Microsoft Office products (Word Excel Access Outlook Visio PowerPoint Project Server)
Bachelors degree
Experience with VITAs Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) system and ECOS/COVRamp
process is strongly preferred.
Experience with the core Commonwealth IT procurement processes (RFP VITA)
Statewide Contract and CAI SOW is preferred.
Knowledge of technology and methodology of computer and network systems and software.
