General Overview
The Assistant Financial Secretary will support the Principal Financial Secretary in overseeing financial operations with a primary focus on fund disbursements. This role is vital to ensuring financial integrity and adherence to organizational policies.
Major Responsibilities
- Fund Disbursement: Assist in the timely disbursement of funds as directed by the Principal Financial Secretary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all financial transactions including receipts and payments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports that detail transactions and fund usage.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Finance Committee to monitor financial activities and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Deposits: Oversee bank deposits and ensure the accurate recording of income in the organizations financial systems.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards including signing an oath of commitment to transparency and integrity.
- Background Checks: Consent to a background check as part of the hiring process.
Qualifications
- Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma; a degree in finance accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in finance or bookkeeping is highly desirable.
