We are seeking an experienced Senior Assurance Manager to join our clients growing team with a strong focus on ownermanaged private companies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing complex engagements and leading teams to deliver toptier services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead manage and review assurance engagements for ownermanaged private companies ensuring compliance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) and relevant standards.
- Oversee the planning execution and completion of complex assurance engagements including the preparation and review of financial statements working papers and tax returns.
- Act as a technical expert in ASPE providing leadership and resolving complex issues that arise during engagements.
- Build and maintain strong trusted relationships with clients providing highlevel advisory services on financial reporting business structuring and tax planning strategies.
- Supervise mentor and develop staff at all levels promoting their professional growth and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Identify and manage risks within assurance engagements implementing best practices and ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance.
- Conduct thorough research on technical accounting auditing and tax matters offering wellreasoned conclusions and actionable recommendations to clients.
- Manage multiple highprofile engagements simultaneously ensuring that all deadlines are met and client needs are exceeded.
- Provide thought leadership within the firm contributing to business development and client service initiatives.
- Collaborate with partners and senior leadership to drive firm growth and ensure the continued success of client engagements.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in a public accounting firm with significant experience working with ownermanaged private companies.
- Completed Canadian CPA designation.
- At least 3 years of experience managing and reviewing files prepared by junior staff and managers.
- Experience in Canadian corporate taxes with a strong ability to provide strategic tax planning advice for private companies.
- Advanced proficiency in Caseware Caseview MS Office (Excel and Word) and Taxprep.
- Deep understanding of Canadian accounting assurance engagement standards and ASPE.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team while managing client expectations and deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional problemsolving abilities with a proactive and strategic approach to resolving complex client issues.
- Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on providing exceptional service and adding value to clients businesses.
- Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both clients and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple engagements concurrently.
