About the Energy Regulatory Practice
Our Clients Energy Regulatory team is integrated into our clients Energy Transition & Sustainable Infrastructure Practice. This model allows our client to provide insightful nuanced and collaborative services to clients. Importantly our Energy Regulatory attorneys not only have significant private sector experience but have also worked previously for federal and state government regulators (including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and at Regional Transmission Organizations. This background enables our clients Energy Regulatory attorneys to provide detailed and differentiated counsel to our clients. While our clients Energy Regulatory attorneys are experienced and savvy litigators having represented clients in contested proceedings before FERC state utility commissions and federal courts of appeal our primary aim is to find creative solutions that allow our clients to achieve their commercial goals while complying with applicable regulations.
About the Litigation Section
Our Clients litigation practice provides clients with resourceful approaches experienced advocacy and substantive expertise. Guided by a strong understanding of our clients core objectives we combine a winning attitude and an aggressive drive to yield favorable and efficient results. Our litigators partner across several disciplines to advise on key legal and industry matters that impact resolution and ultimately meet business goals. Our pretrial discovery trial and appellate efforts are designed to solve clients problems through a collaborative resultsdriven approach.
Responsibilities
Our Client is seeking an associate with 2 years of energy regulatory experience with a litigation focus to join our highprofile and growing energy team. This associate will join a team that is at the forefront of matters impacting the energy industry across the United States and will represent project developers independent power producers private equity and infrastructure funds end users of energy (including data center developers) and national clean energy trade groups across a broad spectrum of highstakes legal and business matters.
Ideal candidates should have experience working before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) direct experience in the energy industry and a comprehensive complex litigation skill set including strong legal research and writing skills running document production and discovery. In addition to assisting with energy regulatory and litigation matters the associate will also work on complex litigation matters within our clients general litigation practice. We are looking for a team player who will support the growth of the practice contribute to articles attend speaking engagements and participate in other client development activities.
Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at the company. Therefore the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firms published guidelines.
Qualifications
Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABAaccredited law school
Must be admitted or eligible for admission in the state where the candidate will be based.
Washington D.C. based candidate is highly preferred
Must have 2 years of experience working on energy regulatory and litigation matters in private practice government and/or inhouse
Ideal candidates will have experience working before FERC
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Professionalism in working and engaging with clients and colleagues
Ability to prioritize meet deadlines and balance competing responsibilities
Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings

The salary range for this position is $235000 to $365000. This position is bonus eligible. The client offers a comprehensive benefits package.
