The position is responsible for overseeing the Wireless Services program. The position will also administer Webex Accounts Teleconferencing and perform Wire line management. The individual in this position will work closely with Accounting to audit and review bills for accuracy. This position will also be accountable for wireless inventories including Air cards. This individual will work closely with the rest of the Telecommunications staff and Network staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develops policies and procedures for the wireless services program to be approved and implemented by management. Oversees the deployment and maintaining of cellular devices.
- Works with Accounting to audit all wireless bills and produce the necessary reports for management and Accounting. Maintains inventories and explores new devices for release within the environment. Develops training materials for cellular users and assists with BES administration where applicable. Manages the Broadband Air cards for the environment. Performs wireless vendor management.
- Maintains an inventory of all voice and data lines in the organization. Performs circuit orders and disconnects and tracks the progress of those orders. Performs bill audits and explores ways to reduce overall telecommunications spend. Works with Accounting to audit and approve payment of wire line invoices. Performs vendor management.
- Works with the vendors and end users in maintaining the Webex and Teleconferencing programs. Works with Accounting to audit the bills and produce various reports for Accounting and managers. Seeks ways to improve service and reduce costs.
- As part of the telecommunications there will be various support activities that will require assistance from the individual in this position.
- Maintain voice and data network end user equipment
- Actively pursue training and knowledge of new systems completes training and certification programs as required
- Maintain the security of the Data Center systems and information per VMC and departmental Information Privacy policies
- Support Manager in controlling expenses; provide input for budgeting departmental needs
- Provide afterhours support as necessary
- Participate in oncall rotation as scheduled
- Perform routine maintenance and support of network/telecommunication servers and applications
- Use network monitoring tools to evaluate performance troubleshoot issues monitor throughput and evaluate configurations
- Day to day troubleshooting of phone system LAN and WAN
- Maintain cabling infrastructure
