Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of Sales to lead and drive the sales function for our animal feeds division. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the animal feed agriculture or livestock industries and a proven track record in sales strategy market penetration and revenue growth. This role will require a dynamic leader who can set ambitious targets expand market share and foster strong customer relationships to ensure sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to drive market penetration and achieve revenue growth for the animal feeds division.

  • Target Setting & Team Performance: Set clear performance targets for the sales team conduct regular evaluations and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to stay informed on industry trends competitor activities and customer needs providing insights that shape sales strategies.

  • Customer & Market Expansion: Identify and engage with potential customers expanding into new market segments and increasing the division s market share.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers distributors and stakeholders to enhance brand loyalty and customer retention.

  • Customer Service & Satisfaction: Oversee the development of customer service strategies that ensure high levels of satisfaction and longterm loyalty.

  • Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with product development marketing and production teams to ensure alignment of products with market demands.

  • Marketing & Branding Input: Contribute insights for marketing campaigns promotions and branding strategies that support sales objectives.

  • Sales Analysis & Reporting: Track sales performance analyze data and prepare regular reports for senior management offering insights to refine strategies and adjust approaches as necessary.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Animal Science Veterinary Science or a related field. A master s degree or MBA is a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in sales and business development ideally within the animal feed agriculture or livestock industries.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in setting and achieving ambitious sales targets.

  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the capacity to translate data insights into effective strategies.

Degree in Agricultural science, development, education or related field, Masters degree is an added advantage. Is curious with a genuine interest in the industry issues and policy challenges such as sustainability, modern agriculture, pesticide policy challenges. 5- Years experience working with small farmers. Knowledge in crop protection is desirable. Knowledge working with partners /NGOs and Government. He/she is a self-starter able to motivate others; is diligent, persistent and committed. Has a proven ability to work in a team-oriented proactive way and to drive groups to alignment. Has excellent networking, communication and presentation skills. He/she is open-minded and able to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment. He/she is a member of a professional body.
