JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction and oversight to the Large Taxpayer division by developing and implementing initiatives to maximize revenue collection from large taxpayers as well as advocating for policies and reforms that support the interests of large taxpayers. This is a senior management role which reports to the Commissioner General.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements strategies to enhance tax compliance and service delivery for large taxpayers aligning with BURS s strategic objectives.
Coordinates with the Enforcement division to address noncompliance and tax evasion among large taxpayers effectively.
Directs civil audit and compliance activities by identifying and addressing areas of tax risk among large taxpayers.
Oversees debt management for large taxpayers ensuring timely recovery of outstanding taxes and minimizing arrears.
Ensures compliance with governance standards and risk management protocols by developing and enforcing policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
Represents the interests of large taxpayers within BURS advocating for policies and practices that support compliance and business growth.
Leads special projects and initiatives aimed at improving the tax compliance landscape for large taxpayers.
Utilises data analytics to inform risk assessment compliance strategies and service improvements for large taxpayers.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Master s Degree in either Taxation Accounting Finance Law or any related field. A professional certification (e.g. ACCA CPA) will be highly advantageous.
At least 8 years experience in tax administration or any related field with a significant portion in managing large taxpayer relations or compliance with a minimum of 3 years in senior leadership position.
