Design Engineer (RTL design & FPGA)
Overview:
The Design Engineer (RTL design & FPGA) plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of digital designs for FPGAbased systems. They are responsible for translating system requirements into efficient RTL designs performing design verification and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize RTL designs for FPGAbased systems.
- Utilize Verilog and SystemVerilog for design implementation.
- Conduct design verification and functional testing.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate FPGA designs.
- Participate in system architecture definition and hardware/firmware partitioning.
- Implement and analyze complex algorithms and data path designs.
- Generate design documentation and reports.
- Assist in FPGA prototype bringup and debug.
- Optimize designs for performance area and power.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies and processes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide design feedback.
- Work with crossfunctional teams to resolve designrelated issues.
- Support FPGA designrelated customer engagements as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest FPGA and RTL design tools and methodologies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in RTL design for FPGAbased systems.
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Strong understanding of FPGA architectures and synthesis tools.
- Experience with ASIC design concepts and methodologies.
- Familiarity with VHDL for FPGA design is a plus.
- Ability to perform logic design and analysis.
- Experience in design verification and functional testing.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python Tcl or Perl.
- Knowledge of FPGA implementation tools and timing closure techniques.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Uptodate knowledge of industry trends and advancements in FPGA design.
