Transporting Goods/People: Safely and efficiently drive company vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans, or cars) to transport goods or passengers to their destinations according to the scheduled route or request.
Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries or arrivals, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and weather.
Compliance with Traffic Laws: Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety guidelines while driving. Follow company policies regarding safe driving practices.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections:
Routine Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe and roadworthy condition. This includes checking oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, and ensuring that lights, signals, and other essential systems are functioning.
Basic Vehicle Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness, fuel levels, and general condition. Report any mechanical issues, wear and tear, or required repairs to the appropriate person or department.
Vehicle Cleaning: Keep the vehicle clean and organized, both inside and out, to present a professional image to clients or customers. This may include cleaning the windows, seats, and cargo area.
3. Delivery and Collection of Goods:
Loading and Unloading: Depending on the role, the driver may be responsible for loading and unloading goods from the vehicle. Ensure that items are properly secured and protected during transit to avoid damage.
Handling Deliveries: Make timely deliveries to customers, ensuring that all items are delivered in good condition. May involve obtaining customer signatures or delivery confirmations.
Document Management: Complete and verify delivery receipts, invoices, or shipping documentation. Ensure that records of deliveries and collections are accurate and up to date.
4. Customer Service:
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, especially when interacting with clients during deliveries or pick-ups. Be professional, polite, and helpful at all times.
Problem Resolution: Address any issues that arise during delivery, such as delays, damage, or missing items. Communicate these issues to the appropriate department or supervisor promptly.
Communication: Keep customers and the management team informed of the status of deliveries or transport. Notify them of any delays or changes to the schedule.
5. Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to Safety Regulations: Follow safety regulations and practices, including using seat belts, speed limits, and avoiding distractions while driving.
Load Safety: Ensure that goods or passengers are properly loaded and secured within the vehicle, minimizing the risk of accidents or damage.
