Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Customer Assistance and Sales:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, assess their needs, and provide helpful advice regarding electrical appliances that best suit their requirements.
  • Product Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about various electrical appliances, their features, benefits, technical specifications, and usage. Provide customers with clear, detailed information about products.
  • Sales Pitch and Recommendations: Recommend appliances based on customer needs (e.g., size, energy efficiency, brand preference, budget). Highlight key features and benefits, such as energy savings, durability, and performance.
  • Product Demonstrations: Demonstrate the functionality of appliances, explaining how they work, offering live demonstrations when applicable (e.g., showing how a vacuum cleaner works or setting up an air conditioner).
  • Upselling and Cross-Selling: Suggest additional items, such as accessories, extended warranties, or installation services, to enhance the customer's purchase.

2. Meeting Sales Targets:

  • Achieve Sales Goals: Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets, utilizing effective sales techniques and a customer-first approach to drive revenue.
  • Track Sales Metrics: Monitor sales performance regularly, adjusting strategies and focusing on high-demand or high-margin products to maximize profitability.

3. Customer Service and Problem Resolution:

  • Resolve Customer Queries: Address any questions or concerns customers may have about electrical appliances, including troubleshooting minor issues or explaining usage.
  • Handle Complaints and Returns: Manage any returns, exchanges, or complaints in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring that customers are satisfied and that the process follows store policies.
  • Post-Sale Support: Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure they are satisfied with their purchase. Assist with any issues, offer troubleshooting advice, and ensure they understand product care and maintenance.

4. Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Stock Monitoring: Ensure that electrical appliances are well-stocked and available for sale. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when products need to be reordered.
  • Product Replenishment: Assist with restocking shelves, ensuring that items are displayed attractively and that popular products are consistently available.
  • Display Maintenance: Organize and maintain attractive product displays to highlight top-selling or new appliances. Ensure that the products are arranged according to company guidelines.
  • Stock Audits: Participate in periodic stocktaking and inventory checks to ensure that stock records align with actual inventory.

5. Product Knowledge and Training:

  • Stay Updated on New Products: Continuously learn about the latest electrical appliances, technological advancements, energy-efficient models, and features. Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Product Training: Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance product knowledge and stay current with new appliance models or technological innovations.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical appliances, including their features, functionality, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of energy-efficient appliances, modern technologies, and product trends in the electrical appliance sector.

2. Sales and Persuasion Skills:

  • Ability to effectively pitch and recommend products based on the customer's needs and preferences.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, using strong persuasion and negotiation skills.

3. Customer Service:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, provide product recommendations, and resolve complaints.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and create a positive shopping experience.

4. Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage stock, keep the sales floor organized, and ensure that products are well-displayed.
  • Attention to detail when managing inventory, pricing, and product placements.

5. Technical Aptitude:

  • Comfort with using point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanners, and other retail technologies.
  • Ability to explain technical features of electrical appliances in simple terms to customers.

6. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic appliance issues and provide technical advice to customers when necessary.
  • Knowledge of common appliance problems and solutions to guide customers effectively.

7. Physical Stamina:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy appliances or assist customers with large items, especially in stores dealing with bulky products like refrigerators or washing machines.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and manage physical demands of the role.
