Overview:
The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of Agile and Scrum practices within the organization. They act as facilitators for the agile team working to guide and coach the team in their use of Agile/Scrum principles to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guiding and coaching the Scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
- Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame retribution or being judged.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and helping the team to make improvements and take ownership of their processes.
- Facilitating discussion decision making and conflict resolution within the team.
- Supporting and educating the Product Owner especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
- Supporting and working with other Scrum Masters from various teams to ensure that the Agile and Scrum best practices are being employed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile/Scrum certification.
- Demonstrated experience in a Scrum Master role for at least three years in a software development environment.
- Excellent understanding of Agile and Scrum practices values and methodologies.
- Strong facilitation conflict resolution and communication skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor the team on Agile/Scrum practices and values.
- Experience working with crossfunctional teams in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to lead influence and advocate for Agile/Scrum adoption and best practices.
- Continuous improvement mindset and proven experience implementing process improvements.
- Ability to work with and influence teams and individuals at all levels of the organization.
