Description:
A Sr. Inbuilding Construction Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of the telecommunications equipment deployment and ASP management at assigned job/venues including but not limited to: ensuring the appropriateness of the site for deployment; recommending or selecting suppliers; identifying and validating scope items with RF and suppliers; determining and managing the distribution of the equipment and materials necessary for the deployment; managing site access; planning and scheduling the installation and construction of the job/site including
setting project schedules forecasting and sequencing of work; monitoring progress and milestones against schedule including revising and updating project schedules; acting as the client representative for venue review/approval of supplier deliverables customer visits government/customer inspections and safety issues; conducting audits during build and through construction completion; ensuring completion in accordance with customer standards
evaluating all punch list items and determining if construction is complete and acceptable; monitoring and managing budget; coordinating with and supporting Customer Project Managers; and delegating administrative tasks to support organizations who provide support to the IBCM. The IBCM partners with / supports the Senior Construction Manager on complex jobs/sites as needed. The IBCM also partners with the Remote Construction Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure the proper and timely deployment of telecommunications equipment the IBCM is responsible for the following:
1. Performing feasibility walks at venues alongside the data collection SP.
a. Establish a POC with the venue for access and scheduling.
b. Determine and potential scheduling conflicts with venue ahead of time.
c. Verify cable routing GPS placement DOT placement ingress/egress to headend using iBwave
software.
d. Identify any potential roadblocks that could occur during the construction phase and develop
mitigation plans ahead of time.
2. Analyzing/developing the SOW BOM and work with RF design including the minimum thruput
requirements and the end requirements of the customer planning and managing execution of the same and recommending revisions as needed during the project.
3. Utilizing inbuilding and deployment knowledge and expertise to:
a. Evaluate the job/venue to determine whether it is appropriate for the requirements.
b. Resolve access issues prior to construction start.
c. Evaluate the scope of the job/venue by deciding on the stepbystep methodology to build the system and the materials and equipment necessary to complete the build; prepare reports and other
communications to the Senior Construction Manager and/or Customer Project Manager regarding the
same.
d. Report any material deficiencies that may halt job construction to the Senior Construction Manager and create plan for resolving the deficiencies.
e. Develop and/or manage plan of record taking into account when job will be ready to construct
coordinate crew and material delivery schedule to ensure that construction will be performed correctly on time and within budget.
f. Review and monitor job status working with the Senior Construction Manager and/or Construction
Project Manager to adjust schedules and on any necessary changes to the budget.
g. Attend market meetings.
h. Interface with the Customer and other Internal/External personnel regarding project status delays and execution of work; address supplier quality concerns with the supplier negotiate customer and supplier issues as necessary.
i. Oversee and review construction at the venue against scope documents review status with supplier ensure construction is being performed as scoped safely and correctly.
j. Perform formal EHS safety audits in accordance with client and applicable government/industry
safety standards and best practices.
k. Review and determine site feasibility with regards to site design based on site conditions and applying changes required to perform the scope in accordance with client safety standards to include but not limited to high hazard work cable management etc.
l. Continuously assess safety and best practices; stand down crew based on environmental regulations and safety noncompliance.
m. Determine whether construction has been properly and accurately completed direct the Remote
Construction Manager as needed; and validate completion of any additional work as needed.
4. Provide guidance training and mentorship to ASPs and their crews as well as RCMs and others.
5. Partner with the Remote Construction Manager and/or Senior Construction Manager; prepare reports on production and quality of builds; give presentations on status and issues.
6. Partner with the Remote Construction Manager and/or Senior Construction Manager to drive issues with Service Providers and/or suppliers.
7. Provide performancerelated feedback for ASPs and other personnel as needed and for use in yearly performance evaluations.
8. Work closely with RF design teams to understand project requirements and provide valuable insights during the RF design phase. Assist in identifying optimal locations for small cells and other RF components with a specific emphasis on Ericsson DOT system requirements.
9. Perform any assigned additional tasks and assist the Senior Construction Manager as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years of related work/ industry experience.
- degree preferred.
- Basic technology or related trade course work completion. Specifically inbuilding RAN systems (DOT PDAS ODAS)
- Experience with providing design solutions and working with RF to optimize the solution.
- Ability to determine site feasibility as well as site design consulting as needed.
- Direct knowledge of working in both large and small venues.
- Experience in managing and directing general contractors construction scope estimation etc. (Inbuilding Backhaul Maintenance Work).
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce Ericsson and customer construction and quality standards.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting practices and techniques.
- Understanding of site acquisition zoning permitting landlord negotiations leasing laws jurisdictional requirements and environmental compliance.
- Ability to interface with customers property owners and other internal and external ancillary personnel as needed.
- Basic knowledge of contracts (leasing vendor facing customer facing) and budgets.
- Understanding of EHS statutory requirements impacting Ericsson in the local market.
- Completion of approved OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 30hour course for
- telecommunications industry.
- Field experience in managing general contractors construction scope estimation etc.
- Previous experience working on Ericsson equipment portfolio is a plus.
