Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
  • The ability to handle all monies and keep bank floats from the hotel.
  • The ability to requisition, pick up, verify, and put away all requisitions for non-alcoholic beer, juices, soft drinks and food items used for the bar areas.
  • The ability to offer guests of the bar an enjoyable, expertly served beverage experience conforming to Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness.
  • The ability to stock the bar areas with non-alcoholic beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware and condiments.
  • The ability to develop a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients and preparation.
  • The ability to develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar, i.e. non-alcoholic beers, cocktails, specialty drinks, etc.
  • The ability to understand the menu and the daily specials as well as what is not available.
  • The ability to check and recheck the bar during service.
  • The ability to ensure that all details of service are performed properly and that every guest receives the highest quality of service.
  • The ability to utilize the hotel's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings.
  • The ability to ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending, etc. of drinks.
  • The ability to service all drinks for service bar area, guests and the bar area.
  • The ability to ensure proper service of all food items to guests.
  • The ability to keep the bar area neat and tidy at all times clearing dishes and glassware whenever possible.
  • The ability to ensure that the bar is stocked and all side opening and closing duties are completed.
  • The ability to greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture.
  • The ability to change ashtrays, serve cigarettes and wipe down bar area.
  • The ability to answer telephones according to Four Seasons' standards and take reservations or provide information regarding the bar or any other hotel service.
  • The ability to recognize and address potential disruptive or undesirable guests.
  • The ability to report any accident immediately, no matter how minor, to a manager.
  • The ability to handle a guest walk out.

Desired candidate profile


Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language, Arabic would be beneficial
1 year bartending and/or related food and beverage serving experience
Good knowledge of beverages and mixed drinks

Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods, ensuring that all drinks are prepared quickly and correctly while maintaining a high level of quality.
Physical Stamina: The role requires standing for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying heavy bags of coffee beans or other supplies.
Knowledge of Equipment: Familiarity with using and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment is essential.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think on your feet and resolve issues related to orders, equipment, or customer complaints is important.
Patience and Positivity: Dealing with a range of customers, from those who are indecisive to those who are in a rush, requires patience, a positive attitude, and resilience under pressure.
