Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The Food & Beverage Server provides exceptional quality and service to Restaurant Name guests. In this role, you will be tasked with providing an expertly served beverage or dining experience; anticipating the guests’ needs and as an expert on the menu options; and delivering memorable guest experiences. This role is part of the Waha Restaurant, reporting to the Outlet Manager

What You Will Do

  • Provide an enjoyable dining experience through excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendliness.
  • Anticipate guest needs and satisfaction; offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Assist in clearing and resetting tables according to service standards

  • An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
  • High level of understanding and knowledge of food and wine
  • Background in Luxury Resort and Hotel considered an asset

  • Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they enter the restaurant or dining area, escort them to their table, and present them with menus.
  • Taking Orders: Ask guests for their food and beverage preferences, answer any questions about the menu, and recommend dishes or drinks based on the guest’s preferences.
  • Upselling and Suggesting Specials: Promote menu items, including daily specials, wine pairings, or any featured dishes. Upselling is an important part of maximizing sales.
  • Providing Information: Be knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian), and special promotions to inform guests.
  • Ensuring a Positive Experience: Create a welcoming and friendly environment. Anticipate customer needs, check in regularly with guests during their meal, and make sure everything is to their satisfaction.
  • 2. Serving Food and Drinks

  • Food Delivery: Serve food and beverages to the correct tables in a timely manner. Ensure that orders are accurate and that guests receive the right items.
  • Correct Presentation: Ensure food is presented according to the restaurant’s standards. This may include ensuring plates are clean, garnishes are fresh, and dishes are arranged neatly.
  • Beverage Service: Take orders for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring that they are served in the proper glassware and at the appropriate temperature.

Desired candidate profile

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate with guests, kitchen staff, and colleagues to ensure accurate orders and a smooth dining experience.
  • Customer Service: Strong focus on customer satisfaction, being attentive and friendly, and maintaining a positive attitude, even during busy periods.
  • Multitasking: Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once, such as taking orders, serving food, and handling payments while staying organized and efficient.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring that orders are accurate, guests’ preferences are followed, and the dining area is well-maintained.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays of food and drinks, and move quickly around the dining area during peak hours.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle difficult situations, such as resolving guest complaints or dealing with issues that may arise in the kitchen or bar.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage: A good understanding of the menu, including preparation methods, allergens, and drink pairings, to provide informed recommendations to guests.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other servers, chefs, and management to ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant.
