Job Description
Position: Senior SQL Developer
Location: Providence RI (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior SQL Developer with a strong passion for data analysis software development and a desire to learn new technologies. The ideal candidate will work directly with experienced leads and business resources to deliver highquality solutions. This role will involve designing implementing and working with various data systems.
Required Skills:
Database and Programming Proficiency:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with Oracle databases capable of writing complex SQL queries and developing complex PL/SQL objects including DML and DDL.
- Strong experience with database and SQL performance tuning.
- Proficient in data modeling and data visualization tools (Preferred: Tableau/Power BI).
- Working knowledge of ETL practices (Preferred: Informatica Pentaho).
- Excellent understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with complex DML.
- Expertlevel SQL querying and database manipulation with large datasets.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot logical and functional coding errors.
Development Tools and Methodologies:
- Familiarity with code repositories ideally Git.
- Experience with continuous integration tools preferably Jenkins.
- Knowledge of relational database designs ISDM methodologies database security (rolebased) and query tools such as TOAD SQL Developer or SQL Navigator.
Technical and Analytical Skills:
- Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML) for documenting system architecture.
- Creative problemsolving abilities with foresight into potential issues in software designs or specifications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships collaborate and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- 5 years of Integrated Eligibility experience with experience developing reports for federal agencies (e.g. SNAP/TANF/Medicaid).
- Experience in designing developing maintaining and supporting various databasedriven reporting initiatives.
- Strong skills in data validation quality assurance and referential integrity.
- Experience with Enterprise Workflow Management Tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization technologies such as Tableau.
Certifications and Agile Practices:
- Oracle certification(s) are a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies particularly Scrum XP and Kanban.
Web and FrontEnd Development:
- Experience in XML CSS and JavaScript frameworks (such as JQuery AngularJS NodeJS or React) for web development.
Industry Knowledge:
- Experience with environmental regulatory processes is beneficial.
- Understanding of the technical environment is advantageous.
- Bachelors degree in information technology Data Analytics or Computer Science with 710 years of relevant experience.
