Job Summary:
The Head Mistress Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The role involves planning and delivering ageappropriate educational activities fostering social and emotional development and building positive relationships with students parents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with educational standards and caters to the developmental needs of young children.
Plan and prepare daily lesson plans activities and learning materials that are engaging and educational.
Classroom Management:
Create a safe welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
Manage classroom behavior and ensure that students follow classroom rules and routines.
Address individual needs and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Child Development and Support:
Observe and assess each childs developmental progress and learning needs.
Provide individual and group support to encourage social emotional cognitive and physical development.
Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued and encouraged.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child s progress behavior and any concerns.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings professional development opportunities and school events.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Keep accurate records of each child s progress achievements and behavior.
Prepare and submit reports as required including progress reports and assessments.
Health and Safety:
Ensure the health safety and wellbeing of all students by adhering to school policies and procedures.
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on the latest educational practices early childhood research and relevant regulations.
Attend workshops conferences and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field. Certification in early childhood education may be required.
Experience: Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
Patience empathy and a passion for working with young children.
Working Conditions:
Typically work in a school or early childhood education center.
May involve standing sitting on the floor and interacting with children for extended periods.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for school events or meetings.
