Job Description
At TA Resources we have reimagined traditional staffing and HR consulting with Small to midsize businesses in mind. Focusing on what makes our clients unique we match them with the talent they need to continue to grow. We are currently searching for an R&D Manager for our client located in Lake Forest IL. This is a fulltime office role located in Lake Forest.
Our client is an entrepreneurial company that provides contract manufacturing services to the cosmetics and personal care fields. Theyve been in business since 2018 and have grown at a very fast pace since that time. They specialize in developing and packaging liquids creams and hotfill personal care products into bottles tubes jars sachets packets and other package formats.
The R&D Senior Chemist is responsible for all steps of formula development from ideation to final formulation. Primary responsibilities will be the innovation of new products customer interaction technology transfer and cost savings. This person will need to demonstrate formulation and innovation skills in skin hair and body.
Job Responsibilities:
- Initiate develop and formulate innovative mutually profitable safe and effective products for both CM and customers.
- Manage and develop the R&D team to build SDB as a superior CM for innovation and technology. Manage multiple projects and ensure projects meet timelines and objectives.
- Work with Regulator Compliance Team
- Responsible for the continued growth of sales through new product development and customer relationships. Work directly with customers to help foster healthy relationships and growth of new business. This is a customerfacing role.
- Manage and execute both cost savings and process improvement programs per FY objectives.
- Provide technical support to production and process engineering to ensure smooth transfer of technology from laboratory scale to production scale. Ensure continued successful manufacture and marketing of existing products.
- Participate in the hiring retention and motivation of competent individuals to help foster the growth development of the department.
- Meet with vendors and suppliers to keep updated with the latest technology
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- BS or MS in Chemistry or related science degree
- Experience (years and topics): 810 years minimum Personal Care formulation
- OTC/Quasi Drug formulation experience
- Must be familiar with all basic cosmetic lab equipment including electronic balances viscometer pH meter FTIR and Moisture Analyzer.
- Must be PC literate and literate in Excel Word and Power point etc. Preferred advanced knowledge of Excel.
Communication:
- Strong command of English. Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Compose routine correspondence on own initiative.
- Make comprehensive notes in English.
- Must have ability to work well under pressure.
Physical Capabilities:
- Strength (lifting dexterity repetitive motion)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Employee will frequently use fingers walk and distinguish basic colors. Employee will continuously use both hands sit for extended periods of time and use rapid or welldeveloped coordination simultaneously. Employee must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud distracting environment
- Must be able to judge distance identify details and view computer screen regularly
Job Type: Fulltime
Pay: $125000.00 $160000.00 per year
