Job Description

Were seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School SPED Teacher to join our team in an instructional classroom setting!

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will ensure that all students are provided with the resources and support necessary to thrive in a middle school setting meeting both their academic and socialemotional goals.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Monitor and assess students progress and adjust instructional techniques accordingly.
  • Provide a structured classroom environment that fosters safety learning and engagement for all students.
  • Develop implement and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Modify and differentiate the general education curriculum to accommodate students with varying levels of ability.
  • Provide direct instruction in small groups or individualized settings tailoring lessons to meet students specific learning goals.
  • Implement behavior management strategies in alignment with the schools policies and individual students behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers support staff and administration to create an inclusive environment that fosters academic and social success.

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois certification in Special Education.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and manage a diverse group of learners.
  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Familiarity with IEP development implementation and compliance with state and federal laws.
