Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Perform technical tasks assigned by the Project Specialist Leader, related with design, verification or study activities
  • Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers
  • Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the Company

Job Tasks

  • Develop functional architectural layout of buildings (offshore – plant and non-plant buildings, offshore accommodation modules and technical buildings) based on multi-disciplinary input
  • Prepare MR & TBE of Architectural for Building
  • Review Vendor documents related to Architectural
  • Support Procurement in technical interface with Architectural vendors
  • Actively participation in 3D model review with Client and internally within Saipem group, for clash free model
  • Co-ordinate and prepare Technical Query, SDR, COR
  • Support TM/PSL during design review, 3D Model reviews, Safety Study etc
  • Support/Technical Interface with Fabrication team for Architectural outfitting works for Greenfield and Brownfield Buildings

Job Requirements

  • Education: degree in architectural engineering or naval architecture
  • Experience in designing of technical buildings and living quarters
  • Must have offshore oil and gas experience
  • Ability to relocate to Qatar
  • Design Leadership

    • Lead the architectural design process, ensuring alignment with client vision and project objectives.
    • Oversee the development of design concepts, ensuring creativity, functionality, and compliance with regulations.
  • Project Management

    • Manage all phases of architectural projects, from initial concept through design development, documentation, and construction administration.
    • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Team Development

    • Mentor and develop junior architects and design staff, providing guidance on design principles and project management best practices.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the architectural team.
  • Client Relations

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Engage with clients to present design concepts, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Quality Control

    • Ensure that all architectural documentation and designs meet quality standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct regular design reviews and audits to maintain high levels of accuracy and compliance.
  • Research and Innovation

    • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and sustainable design practices to integrate into architectural solutions.
    • Encourage and lead research initiatives within the team to explore innovative design concepts and methodologies.

Desired candidate profile

  • Project Experience: Proven track record of leading complex architectural projects across various sectors (e.g., commercial, residential, institutional, urban design).

Technical Skills

  • Design Expertise: Strong proficiency in architectural design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and project management tools.
  • Sustainable Design: Knowledge of sustainable design practices and certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) is a plus.

Leadership and Management Skills

  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Project Management: Strong skills in project planning, execution, and delivery, including budget and timeline management.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Client Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively within the team and with external parties.
