Salary: Ranging from 85000CAD to 120000CAD / year
Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Create userfriendly applications for operating troubleshooting and maintaining new chemical automation systems (e.g. DirectInjectLC selfdriving labs). Transition prototypes to commercialready software.
- Automation Technology Design: Collaborate with hardware and chemistry teams to design prototype and improve new automation tools for selfdriving labs. Focus on optimizing synthesis and analysis modules as well as sample handling systems.
- Systems Integration: Oversee integration of automation software with existing lab equipment and workflows.
- Technical Communication: Present research results prepare data visualizations support grant proposals and contribute to technical publications.
- Lab Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to chemical safety protocols environmental management and maintain safety records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Software or Automation Engineering Chemistry Chemical Engineering); Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience: 4 years in automation technology design and development especially for chemistry or lab settings; experience with automated chemistry workflows and UPLC/HPLC instruments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Python C and C#; Experience with Linux and Windows .NET.; Skilled in API integration and code debugging.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication teamwork and presentation abilities; selfmotivated with excellent problemsolving skills.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Skilled in Word Excel and PowerPoint.
