The Project Manager oversees the implementationand integration of thirdparty applications as part of Epic EHR implementationprogram. They provide additional coordination and communication for their team.Reports to the EHR Program Management Office.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the EHR ProgramDirector EHR PMO Manager Application Manager and other project managers tocoordinate activities.
Assist the EHR PMO Manager andApplication Manager with the development of business cases for approval by the InformationTechnology Board and Governance (ITGB)
Ensure coordination andcommunication between NCDHHS and the Office of the State Chief Information Officer(CIO) Department of Information Technology and the DIT/Enterprise ProjectManagement Office (EPMO)
Experience with Health InformationTechnology (HIT) projects with an emphasis on clinical information systems and healthcareapplication interoperability
Highly proficient knowledge of PMIstandards for project management is required experience with Waterfall andAgile methodologies preferred.
Develop andmaintain project plans according to State and NCDHHS IT project managementmethodology; must be familiar with Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint.
Maintain the scope schedule andquality of the project in their specific application areas.
Must have Indepth knowledge of ITproject management IT project budgeting costing QA methodologies processesand standards.
Familiarlywith IT procurements and vendor/contract management
Advise andcoach team members by providing guidance on project issues key success factorsof the project and lessons learned.
Set clearexpectations for team members.
Organizeresources within the organization.
Identify andmanage issues and risks assuring appropriate resolution/escalation andmitigation strategies are documented and status tracked.
Develop project plans and project artifacts.
Assist the business with thedevelopment of business cases for governance approval.
Maintain project schedules and budgets.
Assist as a stakeholder support liaisonfor their areas assigned.
Identify and work with the team totroubleshoot issues.
Guideworkflow design system build and test and analyze other technical issuesassociated with various vendor applications.
Serve as aliaison between organizational needs vendor staff and Epic implementation staff.
Maintainregular communication with Epic and vendor staff representatives includingparticipating in weekly project team meetings.
Work withEpic representatives vendor staff organization and end users to ensure thesystem meets the organizations business needs.
Develop an understanding ofoperational needs to set the direction for the organizations workflows.
Participate in the coordinating oftraining for end users as needed.
Support Epic and thirdparty vendorswith coordination of system and end user testing
Review the status of projects andissues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
Hold weekly communications withteam members to discuss the status of deliverables shared issues end user concerns budget and upcoming milestones.
Develop reports for executivemanagement review and effectively communicate project status and deliverablesto leadership.
Must have strong conflictresolution and management excellent creative thinking and problemsolvingskills and attention to detail analytical thinking and organization skills.
