Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Administers ICT System components to meet service requirements. Installs software, configures and upgrades ICT systems.
Administers day-today operations to satisfy continuity of service, recovery, security and performance needs.

Job Tasks

Investigate, diagnose and solve system related problems
Install and upgrade software
Test upgrades
Schedule installation work, to minimize disruption
Diagnose and solve hardware or software problems
Comply with organisation procedures to ensure integrity and security of the system
Technical Support
Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for users.
System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and updates of ICT systems, ensuring they are functioning efficiently.
Project Management
ICT Projects: Coordinate and manage ICT-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Implementation: Assist in the implementation of new technologies and systems, including software installations and upgrades.
Training and Support
User Training: Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on new technologies and software applications.
Documentation: Create and maintain user manuals, training materials, and system documentation.
Network Administration
Network Management: Oversee network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity and security for all users.
Security Protocols: Implement and monitor security measures to protect the organization's data and systems.
Communication and Collaboration
Liaison: Act as the liaison between the ICT department and other departments, understanding their technology needs and challenges.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of ICT equipment and services.
Planning and Strategy
Technology Planning: Assist in developing and implementing the ICT strategy and policies aligned with organizational goals.
Budget Management: Help manage the ICT budget, tracking expenses and making recommendations for future investments.
Reporting and Analysis
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the performance of ICT systems and services, identifying areas for improvement.
Data Management: Oversee the organization and management of data, ensuring its integrity and availability.
Compliance and Governance
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in ICT management.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to ICT and implement strategies to mitigate them.


Desired candidate profile

  • Project Management: Experience managing ICT projects, including implementation and troubleshooting.

Skills

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in network management, server administration, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with common software applications, databases, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
