Job Description
- The VMC Machining Setter is responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers to produce parts that meet quality standards and specifications.
This role requires a solid understanding of CNC programming tooling and machine setup as well as the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure efficient production.
Requirements
Setup and Operation: Prepare and set up VMC machines according to job specifications including installing and aligning fixtures tools and workpieces.
Tool Management: Select install and calibrate the appropriate tools and offsets for the job requirements.
Programming: Load and verify CNC programs making adjustments to optimize performance and maintain highquality standards.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to machine operations including tool wear fixture setup and workpiece alignment.
Quality Control: Inspect parts during production to ensure adherence to specifications using calipers micrometers gauges and other measuring instruments.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production records including setup sheets inspection reports and job tracking.
Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance including cleaning lubrication and minor repairs and report major issues to the maintenance team.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work area.
