Position Overview
The Controller at European Wax Center will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of the organization. This position involves overseeing financial reporting budgeting and strategic planning ensuring compliance with financial regulations and developing financial policies that align with the company's objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts as well as the reporting of actual results.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the accounting department ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the timely reporting of financial information.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards including tax and audit requirements.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Support strategic initiatives and business development by providing financial evaluations and guidance.
- Assist in financial modeling and forecasting to aid decisionmaking processes across the organization.
- Provide executive leadership with timely and relevant financial reports analysis and recommendations.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Partner with executive management to create a healthy corporate culture that drives performance and growth.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 57 years of experience in accounting or finance roles including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Experience working in a retail or serviceoriented industry is a plus.
- Track record of successful financial management and a proven ability to drive operational improvements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing audits and tax matters effectively.
