Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller to join their leadership team and help drive their next phase of growth and transformation. As the righthand partner to the owner the Controller will oversee all administrative and financial operations bringing structure strategy and leadership to an evolving and vibrant business. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in a legacy company while helping modernize its operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
- Oversee all financial operations including accounting reporting budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage A/R A/P clerical and expense functions while ensuring cash flow remains optimized.
- Conduct monthly reviews with external accountants and ensure smooth yearend compilations and audits.
- Develop and implement policies to improve financial and operational efficiency.
- Perform financial analysis to support strategic decisionmaking and business growth.
Operational Excellence:
- Partner with the owner to transition the business into a modern and innovative operation.
- Lead efforts to replace and integrate ERP systems improving inventory tracking and costofgoodssold (COGS) management.
- Implement streamlined processes for governmental reporting and compliance.
- Build a teamoriented office environment while managing and mentoring office staff.
Team Leadership:
- Serve as a handson team leader providing direction and support to ensure administrative and operational excellence.
- Act as the bridge between operational and administrative teams to foster seamless collaboration.
- Cultivate a workplace culture of accountability humor and resilience in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Growth and Legacy Building:
- Collaborate on the company s growth strategy including potential acquisitions of competitors.
- Act as a key partner in building the company s legacy for future generations.
- Foster a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA or equivalent credentials are a plus.
- Proven experience in a Controller or similar leadership role ideally within a fastpaced dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of financial systems ERP implementation and inventory management.
- Exceptional organizational analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a commodity trading and industrial setting with a handson approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead mentor and inspire a team.
- Growth mindset and a passion for partnering with a familyowned business to drive success.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $125000 plus bonus.

Work Environment:

- Inoffice role with hours ideally from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

General Education and Background Requirements: Required Experience in small to mid-size manufacturing companies in a corporate role Ten years experience in accounting/bookkeeping management Must have strong Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel abilities Must have an accounting degree Experience with an ERP system Must be a strong communicator and team player Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to ensure that business needs are met Preferred Experience with SAGE 500 ERP Syste
