You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Cutoff Operator shall operate in the functions in accordance with plant policies and procedures and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs). He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
1. Qualifications
Education: High School diploma is preferred but not required and additional technical or vocational training may be
preferred.
Experience: Equivalent workrelated experience preferred but not required
Skills:
Reasonable knowledge of handheld measuring devices micrometers measuring tapes go/nogo gauges grinding
operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Ability to utilize basic computer skills (word excel type email etc.)
Basic reading writing and arithmetic skills
Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery hand tools and held technical devices.
Training:
Company Basic Practices; Safety QMS Policy.
Relevant Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions related to Position.
Identification and traceability Test Status activities and Control of Nonconformances.
2. Responsibilities
Follow all standard operating procedures Work Instructions and Process Control Plans (PCP).
Responsible for ensuring proper changeover and setup for the sizing section to include product size.
Check that all machinery is properly serviced before startup and during shift.
Perform functions related to preventative maintenance of equipment; assist in repairs to equipment as necessary.
Must inform supervisor of equipment and supplies needed to ensure the continuation of operation and minimize downtime
of equipment.
Assist in changeovers and Mill stops.
The employee is responsible for pipe length sample cut for flattening and product appearance.
Communicating to the Shift Leader any problems with material and equipment.
Employees must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Must maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Perform any other work assignments as directed by a supervisor or manager.
3. Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment (manufacturing plant with loud noise from heavy
machinery grease and dirt.)
Work involves lifting materials and products up to 50 pounds.
Workers will be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Loosefitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
The employee must clock in and out during shifts.
