VHIR offers a vacant position for a Graduated Technician within the Liver Diseasesviral hepatitis group to enroll in the research line focused on studying biomarkers in hepatitis D virus (HDV).
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Biosciences (biotechnology biochemistry biology...)
- Possession of a PhD is not required.
- Fluency in Catalan Spanish English.
Desired:
- Specific/Additional training in biostatistics and /or data management.
- English certification (at least B2 level).
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience in flow cytometry.
- Experience in cellular (cell culture PBMCs isolation by gradient separation transfection etc) and molecular biology (PCR qPCR digital PCR sequencing etc).
Desired:
- Experience in spectral flow cytometry will be especially valued.
- Ability to analyze results using statistical software such as R or GraphPad.
- Experience in sequencing (nextgeneration Sanger) will be especially valued.
- Previous scientific publications or conference communications demonstrating the candidates technical abilities (these must be cited in the CV).
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Collaborate on a study aimed at identifying biomarkers in the context of hepatitis delta virus infection.
- Providesupport in processing samples from HDV patients
- Finetune a multicolor panel for the analysis of the immunophenotype of HDV patients PBMC.
- Elaborate and sequencing PCR amplicon libraries from hepatitis delta virus and host genomes.
- Analyze the results and elaborate scientific abstracts and/or publications.
Labour conditions:- Fulltime position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: November 2024.
- Gross annual salary: 20.75777
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
