Our client a leading international chemical company serving industries such as Food & Beverage Metal Foundry Semiconductor 3D Printing and Chemical Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Electrical Field Service Technician / Engineer to join their Regional Reliability Team. This handson role will focus on developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs as well as providing corrective maintenance solutions for electrical systems across multiple facilities. The role combines office and fieldwork with approximately 20% domestic travel and requires flexibility to support offhours maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment including substations breakers switchgear MCCs protective relay systems battery and UPS systems and transformers with voltages up to 138kV.
- Service induction and synchronous motors up to 40000 HP and 15000 volts.
- Plan schedule coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance based on established protocols.
- Lead predictive maintenance activities including IR thermography transformer oil analysis partial discharge analysis and power quality assessments.
- Work in various field conditions including elevated areas accessed by ladders scaffolding manlifts and crane baskets.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance of mediumvoltage (5kV to 15kV) electrical systems.
- Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance field service or as an electrician or power distribution technician.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for industrial electrical systems.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office suite.
Preferred:
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or 2 years as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial environment.
- Skilled in the installation troubleshooting and repair of mediumvoltage systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards codes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with control and instrumentation systems in industrial environments.
- Experience using CMMS systems such as Infor EAM.
