Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Crownpoint NM 87313
Shift Timings: Mon Fri 8a6p
Start date: Jan 2025
Duration: 1 Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or associates degree in medical technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or a primary science (i.e. Biology Chemistry Microbiology etc.)
Experience: must have a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience as a generalist medical technologist
License: Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist or as a Clinical Lab Scientist by the appropriate agency (ASCP AMT AAB).
Certification: BLS
Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret a variety of clinical laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry microbiology hematology immunology urinalysis and blood banking using both standardized and nonstandardized procedures.
- Conduct blood draws (venipuncture and capillary puncture) and provide instruction to patients and staff on the correct collection and preservation of specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments ensuring accuracy through regular calibration preventive maintenance and performance testing.
- Develop new test methods establish quality control standards and adapt laboratory procedures to meet clinical requirements.
- Maintain compliance with CNIS and TJC regulations document test results and prepare reports on findings while observing critical testing conditions.
