Job Description
Job Title: Database Administrator(US Citizen Only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Install configure and maintain database management systems (DBMS) to ensure high availability and performance.
- Monitor database performance and conduct regular tuning and optimization to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data from loss and ensure business continuity.
- Implement and maintain database security measures including user access controls and encryption protocols.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement effective data models and database schemas that support application requirements.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues promptly providing support to endusers as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations procedures and changes for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Manage database upgrades patches and migrations ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Work closely with IT teams and application developers to support databaserelated projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role with strong expertise in database management systems (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle SQL Server).
- Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization techniques.
- Experience in database backup and recovery tools and strategies.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g. AWS RDS Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills capable of working effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Oracle DBA Microsoft SQL Server Certification) are a plus.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
