Job Description
DUTIES ENTAIL:
- Functions as a member of the sterile team
- Assists in readying room opening supplies performs surgical scrub sets up back table and prepares anticipated instruments equipment and supplies
- Assists with draping and establishing sterile field
- Anticipates needs and passes instruments sutures etc. according to need
- Assures safe sterile environment through use of scrupulous aseptic technique
- Needle and sponge counts with circulating nurse
- Shares oncall rotation with other staff member
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited course
- Surgical Technician Certification (CST) is preferred at time of employment.
- Certification is required within 6months of employment.
- At least 23 years of acute care hospitalbased operating room experience.
- At least 23 years of experience in Ortho Neuro General Surgery Spine & Robotics.
- Must have knowledge of principles and procedures related to surgery.
- Current BLS
- FullTime: 80hrs per pay period
- Hours: 6:30am 5:00pm
- Call Schedule: 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month ($4.00/hour while on call)
- Call Back: minimum of 2hours of pay when called in at time & one half
- Shift Differential: (pay is based on majority of hours worked)
- Evening Shift (3pm 11:30pm) 8%
- Night Shift (11:00pm 7:30am) 11%
- No Weekend Differential
