The Wealth Management Legal team forms a critical part of the banks legal department providing legal counsel to the various business units on matters related to banking operations and regulatory compliance.
This support includes overseeing the initiation execution and closure of banking transactions as well as ensuring an effective operational framework for these activities (including alignment with EU regulatory requirements such as those related to sustainability).
Tasks
- Provide comprehensive legal advice including contract drafting and negotiation implementation of legal standards (including projectspecific compliance) and where necessary the defense or enforcement of rights for key departments including:Wealth Management
- Asset Management
- Securities Compliance (including complaint management)Stay uptodate with regulatory requirements and manage compliance issues to support business initiatives effectively.
- Contractual Support: Draft negotiate and review a wide range of legal documents and agreements related to Wealth and Asset Management ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and mitigating potential risks.
- Regulatory Guidance: Advise on the interpretation and application of new and existing regulatory requirements including EUwide standards sustainability directives and sectorspecific regulations impacting wealth and asset management.
- Risk Management and Dispute Resolution: Identify legal risks across transactions and advise on mitigation strategies; manage potential disputes liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and act as the first point of contact for resolving legal conflicts.
- Corporate Governance: Support internal governance activities including board and committee meetings for relevant areas through guidance on legal standards and the drafting of minutes and resolutions.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and guidelines to align the banks operations with legal requirements and best practices especially for Wealth and Asset Management operations.
- Compliance Collaboration: Partner with Compliance and Risk departments to address and preempt regulatory and compliance issues particularly in securities law complaint management and regulatory audits.
- CrossDepartmental Projects: Collaborate with various departments on crossfunctional projects providing legal support in new product launches digital initiatives and technology adoption to ensure legal risks are adequately addressed.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Conduct training sessions and develop resources to ensure internal teams are wellinformed about relevant legal and regulatory updates impacting wealth and asset management.
Requirements
- Fully qualified lawyer with extensive knowledge and experience in Wealth and Asset Management as well as broader banking operations.
- Indepth knowledge of supervisory law securities law and EU regulatory frameworks impacting the financial sector.Strong interest in digital solutions IT infrastructure and the intersection of technology with banking processes.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills for managing information across various departments and locations.
- Fluent German and English proficiency with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively.
- Highly detailoriented capable of independent and pragmatic decisionmaking.
- Confident adaptable and culturally aware with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to travel for business as needed.
