Assembler II (First Shift)


How Will You Make an Impact:
Thermo Fisher Scientific Hillsboro campus is on the cutting edge of global technology in pursuit of enabling our customers to make the world a Healthier Cleaner and Safer place.
A Day in the Life:
Conduct assembly alignments and final configurations of components.
Conduct assembly work applying prescribed methods using a variety of hand tools fixtures and test equipment.
Collect test data use databases and other office programs to document the manufacturing process.
Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions.
Assist in the selection and/or setup of specialized equipment.
Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
Perform equipment setup calibration and preventative maintenance.
Follow audit and safety guidelines.
Participate in continuous process improvement.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required.
Background in precision mechanical assembly and lowvolume sophisticated manufacturing processes required.
Experience in lean manufacturing 6S and continuous improvement a plus.
Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus.
Experience with Windowsbased and MS Office programs (Word Excel DivisionSpecific Outlook and Access).
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Demonstrated ability in efficiently working in a Team of 810 colleagues.
Ability to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaboratively.
Ability to support projects perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teams.
Selfmotivated selfstarter with strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Ability to liftup to 35lbs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural language and educational backgrounds.
Ability to work in appropriate PPE.
