Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue and market penetration prior to the opening.
  • Conduct market research to identify target demographics, assess competitive landscapes, and refine sales tactics.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance and support to achieve pre-opening sales goals.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions to equip team members with product knowledge and effective sales techniques.

3. Market Analysis:

  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor competitors and their offerings to ensure the establishment remains competitive.

4. Lead Generation and Client Acquisition:

  • Identify and generate leads through networking, cold calling, and outreach efforts to build a robust client database.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and local businesses to foster partnerships.

5. Sales Presentations and Negotiations:

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the unique offerings of the new establishment.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure bookings and maximize revenue.

6. Collaboration with Marketing:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that enhance visibility and drive interest in the opening.
  • Participate in planning and executing marketing initiatives, including online campaigns and local events.

7. Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate pre-opening events, such as soft openings and promotional activities, to generate excitement and attract customers.
  • Organize familiarization (FAM) trips for potential clients and partners to experience the venue before it officially opens.

8. Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Monitor and report on sales performance, tracking progress toward pre-opening targets and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement in sales efforts.

9. Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • Coordinate with operational and finance teams to ensure alignment on opening goals and readiness.
  • Participate in pre-opening meetings to provide sales insights and contribute to overall operational plans.

10. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers to enhance brand loyalty and encourage bookings.
  • Address inquiries and provide information about the establishment's offerings, ensuring excellent customer service.

Desired candidate profile

1. Education:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Additional Certifications: Sales and marketing certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional, Certified Hospitality Sales Professional) are advantageous.

2. Experience:

  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within the hospitality or retail sector.
  • Pre-Opening Experience: Previous experience in sales or marketing during pre-opening phases of hotels, restaurants, or retail establishments is highly desirable.

3. Sales Skills:

  • Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and developing effective sales strategies.
  • Lead Generation: Strong ability to identify and generate leads through networking, outreach, and other sales techniques.

4. Marketing Knowledge:

  • Understanding of marketing principles and experience in developing promotional strategies to attract clients.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and techniques to enhance brand visibility.

5. Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and local businesses.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to mentor and motivate the sales team to achieve pre-opening goals.
