Tooling and Automation Engineer EM7 Platform
Who Youll Work With
Collaboration Technology Group (CTG) is the technology tower that owns develops and supports the Webex suite of products UCMC Webex Calling DI Webex MT and Contact Center.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ScienceLogic EM7 Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role you will be responsible for the design implementation and maintenance of our monitoring systems using ScienceLogic EM7. You will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability performance and scalability of our enterprise infrastructure through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting. You will be working closely with our operations network and systems engineering teams as well as other stakeholders across various departments.

You are a selfmotivated and detailoriented engineer with a deep understanding of network and systems monitoring technologies specifically in using ScienceLogic EM7. You have a strong technical background and are comfortable working in complex environments. Your passion for problemsolving and commitment to optimizing system performance drive you to continuously innovate. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are key strengths as is the ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and environments.
What Youll Do
Design implement and maintain monitoring solutions using ScienceLogic EM7 for collaboration network and application infrastructures.
Configure and finetune ScienceLogic EM7 for optimal performance and efficient data collection visualization and alerting.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot performance issues across infrastructure components and provide timely resolutions.
Develop and maintain custom dashboards reports and alerts to meet operational and business needs.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage and support the continuous improvement of monitoring processes.
Provide ongoing technical support and training to teams utilizing ScienceLogic EM7.
Regular sync up with the stake holders to understand the business need.
Owning the root cause analysis process and ensure remediation of major issues.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of existing and new technologies and be able to tie the design and implementation of infrastructure to the managed components.
Work with design & engineering teams to understand product and project requirements.
Perform an advanced Troubleshooting and Diagnosis of Complex Issues
Provide input to continuous improvement and process change suggestions.
Required Technical Skills/Qualifications
2 years prior experience in the support of complex Linux based enterprise software applications.
Must be familiar with common administrative commands as well as able to write scripts in one of the major shells.
Basic understanding of various devices in Collaboration Network DataCenter and Security portfolios
Understanding of MySQL PostgreSQL or SQLite
Ability to construct SQL statements to query and occasionally update information in a database.
Good understanding of SNMP protocol. Must demonstrate familiarity with SNMP commands MIBs and OIDs.
Hands of experience with one or more scripting/programming languages (Bash/POSIX Perl Python C Go PHP)
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Ability to professionally perform and communicate in stressful and high impacting situations.
Preferred Technical Skills/ Qualifications
ScienceLogic EM7 certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with cloud platforms and monitoring hybrid cloud environments.
Knowledge of ITIL practices specifically incident and problem management.
Experience integrating ScienceLogic EM7 with other IT operations tools such as ServiceNow Splunk or SolarWinds.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Docker or Kubernetes for automated monitoring setups.
Strong understanding of security monitoring and compliance requirements within an enterprise environment.
