Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Interpretation Services

  • Real-Time Interpretation: Provide accurate and effective interpretation during conversations, meetings, conferences, or legal proceedings in both consecutive and simultaneous formats.
  • Cultural Mediation: Facilitate understanding between parties by conveying not just words but cultural nuances and context.

Preparation and Research

  • Topic Familiarization: Prepare for assignments by researching relevant topics, terminology, and context to ensure accurate interpretation.
  • Glossary Development: Create and maintain a glossary of terms relevant to specific industries or subject matters to enhance accuracy.

Communication

  • Clarification: Seek clarification from speakers when necessary to ensure accurate understanding and interpretation.
  • Feedback: Collect feedback from clients and stakeholders to improve interpretation practices and address any concerns.

Documentation

  • Session Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of interpretation sessions, including notes on significant details, challenges, or follow-up actions required.
  • Confidentiality: Ensure that all sensitive information remains confidential and secure, adhering to ethical standards of practice.

Professional Development

  • Ongoing Training: Participate in workshops, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current with language skills and industry trends.
  • Networking: Engage with professional organizations and peers to exchange knowledge and experiences.

Team Collaboration

  • Working with Others: Collaborate with other interpreters, translators, and professionals to ensure seamless communication during events or sessions.
  • Support Roles: Provide support to clients and colleagues as needed, including guidance on best practices for communication.

Technical Proficiency

  • Equipment Familiarity: Use and manage interpretation equipment, such as headsets and microphones, effectively during sessions.
  • Remote Interpretation: Adapt to technology for remote interpreting when required, ensuring quality communication in virtual settings.

Personal Attributes

  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all interpretations.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Show respect and understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives, fostering a supportive communication environment.

Desired candidate profile

The interpreter will be responsible for interpreting conversations speeches, abs other verbal communication into the target language.

Qualifications

- Fluency in English and Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) is a must.

- Advanced Vocab. And Grammar.

- Ability to interpret conversations, speeches and other verbal communication into the target language accurately and quickly.

- Experience in interpretation or related field is preferred.

- Graduates only can apply.

-Flexible with rotational shifts.
Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Interpreter, court interpreter certifications) are highly desirable.
Language Proficiency
Bilingualism: Fluency in at least two languages, with a deep understanding of both spoken and written forms.
Cultural Competence: Strong awareness of cultural nuances, idiomatic expressions, and regional dialects relevant to the languages spoken.
Technical Skills
Interpretation Techniques: Proficient in various interpretation modes, including consecutive, simultaneous, and whispering.
Technology Use: Familiarity with interpretation equipment and software (e.g., headsets, microphones, remote interpretation tools).
Experience
Work History: Previous experience in interpretation settings, such as conferences, meetings, legal proceedings, or healthcare environments.
Subject Matter Expertise: Knowledge in specific fields (e.g., legal, medical, technical) can be advantageous.
Soft Skills
Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages clearly and accurately.
Active Listening: Strong listening skills to comprehend and interpret spoken language effectively.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to different environments and situations quickly.
