Job Description
Role: MidLevel Software Engineer
LOCATION: REMOTE work from home

- 12 years of experience in building and maintaining micro service architectures cloudbased applications and dataintensive systems.
- Familiarity with unit testing infrastructure as code and a strong commitment to hitting the ground running.
- Enthusiasm for taking on fullstack responsibilities including frontend backend and cloud infrastructure.
- The new hires will be integrated into the existing team structure working as peers with the current team members.
- The team is distributed across the United States with core hours from 9am to 5pm local time.
- There is a rampup period before taking oncall production support responsibilities with the duration depending on the level of seniority (6090 days for more junior candidates).
Technical Points:
- The system architecture involves a mix of onboard and cloudbased components:
- Onboard systems handle pretrip inspections and vehicle health monitoring.
- Cloudbased systems are responsible for logistics integration mission clearance and remote vehicle control.
- The communication between the vehicle and cloud systems is facilitated by IoT technologies using MQTT protocols.
- The cloudbased components leverage AWS managed services including:
- Kinesis for highvolume data ingestion and processing
- DynamoDB for NoSQL data storage
- Pythonbased APIs and micro services
- The team uses a fullstack approach with engineers involved in infrastructure testing and simulation.
- A custom web application is used to visualize realtime data from the autonomous vehicles utilizing React and Vue.js for the frontend and REST APIs for the backend.
- The team operates in an agile manner with quarterly planning and twoweek sprints.
- The work is driven by a commercialization roadmap and operational accelerators coordinated by a technical product manager.
