Position Overview: The Process Safety Director LATAM will be responsible for developing implementing and leading strategies processes and initiatives related to Process Safety Engineering and Process Safety Management (PSM) across the company. This role ensures compliance with legal frameworks and focuses on continuously improving Occupational Safety and Health performance. The ideal candidate must have direct experience in implementing PSM systems and will challenge and inspire teams fostering open dialogue and creating a culture of trust around Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
PSM Implementation:
- Lead the development and implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and international best practices.
- Ensure the effective application of PSM standards and practices across all LATAM operations.
- Continuously seek improvement in Process Safety and Occupational Health performance through innovation and bestinclass safety strategies.
Leadership and Culture:
- Act as a safety ambassador challenging and inspiring teams around the company s vision and values regarding Occupational Safety and Health.
- Foster a culture of safety trust and engagement through open constructive communication with teams and stakeholders on all safety matters.
Collaboration and Program Development:
- Participate in the development and ensure the implementation of programs and initiatives related to Process Safety Engineering and PSM.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the alignment of safety initiatives and the integration of PSM systems throughout the organization.
Monitoring and Compliance:
- Oversee the monitoring of safety engineering objectives ensuring that plans are defined implemented and followed through within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations PSM guidelines and Occupational Health standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams regulatory bodies and external partners to drive continuous safety improvements.
- Promote open ongoing dialogue to enhance safety performance and address potential hazards proactively.
Requisitos
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering Occupational Health or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Safety and Occupational Health with a proven track record in implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) systems preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Extensive knowledge of LATAM regulatory frameworks related to PSM and Occupational Safety and Health.
- Strong leadership communication and people management skills with the ability to inspire and engage diverse teams.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
