Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department ensuring highquality products excellent customer service and a vibrant shopping experience. You will manage a team maintain inventory and work closely with suppliers to provide fresh seasonal produce.

Key Responsibilities:

Department Management: Oversee all aspects of the produce department including merchandising inventory control and staff management.

Product Quality: Ensure all produce is fresh wellpresented and meets the quality standards of the supermarket.

Inventory Control: Manage stock levels conduct regular inventory counts and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service addressing inquiries and assisting customers in selecting products.

Team Leadership: Train supervise and motivate produce department staff to achieve departmental goals and maintain high service standards.

Sales Performance: Monitor sales trends and develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability in the produce department.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies regarding food handling and cleanliness.

Seasonal Promotions: Plan and implement seasonal promotions and displays to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.



Requirements

Qualifications:

Previous experience in produce management or a related role in a retail environment.

Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables including seasonal availability and handling requirements.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in inventory management systems and pointofsale (POS) technology.

Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities: Sorting and Grading: Inspect and sort fruits and vegetables for quality, size, and ripeness. Processing: Wash, peel, chop, and package produce according to company standards. Machine Operation: Operate processing equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of produce during processing and report any issues to supervisors. Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts and report any discrepancies. Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure timely and efficient production. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
