    Our service is one of Japans largest comprehensive download shops for independent works games comics and audio products.

    The predecessor to this service began in 1996 and it was renamed in 2001 continuing to the present day. With over 20 years of history this service now has more than 13 million members.

    Not only do we want to continue providing enjoyment to the users who have supported us but we are also dedicated to supporting the creators who produce the content. With our full range of services under our umbrella we aim to energize the entertainment market both domestically and internationally.

    We are currently seeking someone to take charge of the overall direction of our service one of the cornerstones of our company.

    Hiring Background

    In line with the expansion of our services and to ensure further growth we are looking for a director who can lead projects related to service improvements and campaign initiatives.

    Our team is currently at a turning point. We aim to shift from a model where the business division (service operations) plans and development follows those plans faithfully until release to a model where we actively participate in planning propose ideas to maximize the impact of those plans and involve all stakeholders.

    To achieve this we are focusing on team building such as reviewing results to foster overall growth and enhancing the skills of each team member. We also aim to strengthen the structure where directors can independently plan and execute projects.

    We are looking for individuals who can help grow our services into something that will be used by more users and creators under our company and who can help build such a director team.

    Job Responsibilities

    Since the scope of work will vary depending on your skills we will discuss details during the interview. Initially however we expect you to handle the following:

    • As a development director you will be responsible for the entire process from defining requirements to release.
      • Starting with website updates and campaigns.
      • Depending on your skills and performance you may later be entrusted with larger projects such as implementing new features or working on projects closer to new development.

    Upon joining you will initially be assigned lighter projects to help you get accustomed to the service and internal processes. Gradually you will take on more challenging tasks.

    Career Path

    Rather than a rigid path we consider your preferences and aptitudes when determining your career direction. Generally you can progress toward management or into roles like PM (Project Manager) or PdM (Product Manager).

    You are not restricted to only one pathif you want to move from a specialist role to management we will assign you projects that align with your goals.

Minimum Requirements

    • Someone with over 2 years of practical experience as a web or app director or possessing equivalent skills with the following experience: Proposing and planning service improvements regardless of whether its a new or existing service.
    • This includes feature additions UI/UX improvements campaigns etc. Handling the entire direction process working as a team with inhouse designers and engineers.
    • Involves defining requirements creating specifications progress management etc.
    • Experience with both inhouse and contracted services is highly welcomed!
    • Someone who is interested in our services or entertainment services and feels motivated to contribute.

Conditions / Benefits

Employment type: Full time

Location: Chiyodaku Tokyo

  • Remote work: You can choose to come to the office at least 3 times a week or be fully remote depending on the teams policy.
  • There will be no relocation.

Annual Salary: 4.5M 7.5M JPY

  • Based on experience ability and previous work experience
    • Pay raise opportunity once a year (April)
    • Bonuses twice a year (June December)
      • Standard 1 month/time (varies depending on length of employment and evaluation)

Hours: 10:00 18:00 (1 hour break included)
