Job Description
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student s unique needs.
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and determine educational needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers specialists and families to enhance student learning.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate varying abilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP goals.
- Provide emotional and social support fostering a positive learning experience.
- Stay up to date on best practices in special education through ongoing training and development.
Requirements
- Have an Illinois PEL with special education
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
- A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required; a Masters degree is a plus
