Job Description

Our organization is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to lead a selfcontained classroom designed to support young learners with diverse developmental needs.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each childs unique strengths and challenges. This role requires close collaboration with families caregivers and colleagues to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Additionally the teacher will engage in districtprovided professional development opportunities to remain informed about the latest strategies and best practices in early childhood special education.

Position Highlights:
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet students specific needs.
  • Work collaboratively with parents caregivers and other professionals to create a positive and supportive learning experience.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings contributing progress updates and recommending necessary adjustments.
  • Regularly assess and document student growth modifying teaching approaches to support optimal development.
  • Foster a safe structured classroom environment that promotes positive behavior respect and engagement.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification in Early Childhood Special Education.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and behavior management strategies.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities in a preschool setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families and team members.
