JOB PURPOSE
The ICT Assistant is responsible for executing the maintenance followup and monitoring of all IT and Telecom equipment tools and services as well as ensuring onsite & offsite technical support and training of users under his/her responsibility in consultation with ICT Manager in accordance with MSF standards policies protocols and procedures to guarantee the efficient use of all IT and Telecom services and infrastructure.
To assist ICT Manager in developing implementing and maintaining the quality security continuity and coherence of an efficient and effective ICT environment in accordance with the requirements of the office of the MSF South Asia in India and other countries.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of an uptodate ICT infrastructure (hardware software and electronic data)
- Monitoring maintaining and following up on all Information Technology (IT) and Telecom equipment tools and services in the MSF India Offices in India in accordance with MSF standards policies protocols and procedures.
- Supervising implementing and improving data security protocols (data saving firewall User Access right backup security for equipment and software etc.) to ensure data security availability and immediate operational recovery and continuity in case of emergency.
- Performing any other task specific to his/her area of specialty as defined in his/her job description and according to the line manager.
- Performance of specific technical functions including changing of hardware electronic components (disks memories network wiring power sources etc.) and routine repairs.
- Ensure that all the ICT equipment s (servers computers printers telephone LL/ Mobiles A/V equipment s etc.) are functioning smoothly and uninterrupted.
- Assistance in the installation of commercial and inhouse developed software and related upgrades.
- Assist in management and acquisition of ICT software s and hardware for specific departments.
- Support to users in backing up and restoring their files as well as in virus detection removal and prevention.
- Ensure that software and antivirus updates are being delivered correctly on all systems.
- Responsible for providing support at live events and emeetings
Supports network and system administration
Troubleshooting & monitoring of network related problems.
Maintain log of all trouble reports and detailed resolution in trouble ticket system
Maintain and troubleshoot network systems such as file servers network printing and connectivity;
Provide user support for all network access and all system related software and devices (laptop drives SharePoint);
Maintain Periodic backup of Users data MSFE data and share folders
Provides administrative support
- Responsible for management and processing of ICT bills of office and MSF guesthouse
- Maintenance of an uptodate inventory of software and hardware.
- Maintenance of the inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts in cooperation with the Facilities department;
- Maintenance of the filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials;
- Extraction of data from various sources;
- Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources; preparation of statistical charts tables and reports as required;
- Providing ICT support to key Events/ Projects
Briefing and Training Provide ICT briefing and basic training to existing and new staff
Procurement of ICT Equipment s Procurement of ICT equipment s for MSF India offices in India

Other Dimensions
- Responsible for the ICT maintenance of all staff and infrastructure in Offices in India/ Sri Lanka.
- Remote ICT support to the users of MSF South Asia in Sri Lanka and other countries if required
- Support to other MSF Sections if required
Performance Indicators
- Uptodate office infrastructure and IT compliances (Software and Hardware)
- Adequate trouble shooting: 90% of all ICT inhouse queries are solved within 12 hours
- 100% of required ICT payments done well in time
- Uptodate and approved ICT strategy payments and inventory for the MSF offices in India/Sri Lanka

- Closely work with ICT Manager based in MSF South Asia Office in Colombo

Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
- Graduate in IT or equivalent
Relevant Experience
- Preferably 45 years work experience in System and network administration trouble shooting supporting management of hardware and software platforms telecommunications facilities and knowledge of Windowsbased packages/applications
Other requirements
- Expertise in the latest version of Microsoft Operating System and business applications (Office365)
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and maintenance processes network theory and their respective protocols main email systems IT security best practices and IT service management tools (ITSM)
- Knowledge of Computer Hardware s Routers Switches etc.
- Good knowledge of written & spoken English
