Job Description

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN SecretaryGeneral. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic social and environmental challenges confronting the world.

SDSN works closely with the United Nations agencies multilateral financing institutions the private sector and civil society. Its directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and operated through offices in New York Paris and Kuala Lumpur.


About FABLE

SDSN coleads the Food Agriculture Biodiversity Land Use and Energy (FABLE) Consortium. FABLE is a global network of researchers modelling longterm integrated pathways for food and landuse systems. FABLEs mission is to create a collaborative space to support local scientists through capacity building access to modelling tools and data and knowledge on effective strategies for engaging stakeholders and informing policy processes. The program manager will become an integral part of the FABLE team actively contributing to the management of the FABLE network. This opportunity offers vast learning experience covering model development training others on modeling tools stakeholder engagement in the food and landuse sphere impactful communications on sustainability issues and donor relations.


Position Overview

SDSN is seeking a dynamic and experienced program manager to join the SDSN FABLE team and serve as project manager and knowledge products editor. We are looking for motivated candidates who can contribute actively to the teams interdisciplinary work around incountry capacity building and analysis of longterm quantitative pathways and policies related to the national regional and global food and land use towards policy impacts in line with the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. He/she will have to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment working closely with the other FABLE Secretariat members from SDSN IIASA and the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT the FABLE Consortium members from 24 countries and multiple project partners. His/her main responsibility will be to help with successfully completing and delivering the Food Systems Land Use and Restoration (FOLUR) project and to strengthen the team project management capacity during a maternity leave.

Location: Paris hybrid working. Min. 3 days per week in the office.

Contract length: 6 months from December to May CDD contract.

Le SDSN codirige le consortium FABLE (Food Agriculture Biodiversity Land Use and Energy). FABLE est un rseau mondial de chercheurs qui laborent des trajectoires nationales vers des systmes alimentaires et dutilisation des sols durables au long terme. La mission de FABLE est de crer un espace de collaboration pour soutenir les scientifiques locaux par le biais du renforcement des capacits de laccs aux outils de modlisation et aux donnes et de la connaissance des stratgies efficaces pour impliquer les parties prenantes et informer les processus politiques. La/le charg/e de programme fera partie intgrante de lquipe FABLE et contribuera activement la gestion du rseau FABLE. Aperu du poste

SDSN est la recherche dun(e) charg(e) de programme dynamique et expriment(e) pour rejoindre lquipe de SDSN FABLE et servir de chef de projet et dditeur de certaines publications en lien avec les travaux de modlisation de FABLE. Nous recherchons des candidats motivs qui peuvent contribuer activement au travail interdisciplinaire de lquipe autour du renforcement des capacits dans les pays et de lanalyse des trajectoires quantitatives long terme et des politiques lies lutilisation de lalimentation et des terres aux niveaux national rgional et mondial en vue davoir des impacts politiques conformes aux ODD et lAccord de Paris sur le climat. Il/elle devra travailler dans un environnement interdisciplinaire et international en travaillant en troite collaboration avec les autres membres du secrtariat de FABLE de SDSN IIASA et lAlliance of Bioversity et CIAT les membres du consortium FABLE de 24 pays et de multiples partenaires de projet. Sa principale responsabilit sera daider finaliser la contribution de lquipe FABLE au projet de restauration des systmes alimentaires de lutilisation des terres et de la restauration (FOLUR) et de renforcer la capacit de gestion de projet de lquipe pendant un cong de maternit.
