As a Mortgage Broker Assistant you ll play a crucial role in the mortgage broking process by handling the essential administrative and loan processing tasks that keep the operation running smoothly. From collecting applicant documents to preparing serviceability calculators you ll manage various elements of loan applications while adhering to strict deadlines and compliance regulations. Mortgage MustDos: Responsibilities at a Glance
- Collating applicant documentation to ensure applications meet established timeframes
- Gathering and renaming supporting documents for loans in the designated cloud drive and CRM ensuring compliance with aggregator and lender requirements
- Preparing serviceability calculators for clients by interpreting financial data
- Requesting pricing discounts and negotiating strong offers by presenting competing bank offers
- Ordering property valuations
- Preparing loan lodgments
- Preparing RP data searches and property reports
- Performing data validations
- Running files through the compliance checklist
- Adhering to strict timeframes and deadlines for loan applications
- Collecting information from lenders for existing clients and preparing a database
- Following up with lenders and key stakeholders in a timely manner maintaining accurate records
- Analyzing bank statements and living expenses for applicants
- Generating and reviewing credit reports addressing any items of concern
- Verifying potentially fraudulent items (e.g. conflicting addresses) and flagging them to the broker
- Researching lender offerings and preparing product comparison reports
- Generating and identifying compliance requirements in the CRM and completing required data entry for lodgment
- Preparing outstanding documents for lenders and stakeholders to get files approved and ready for settlement
- Managing prelodgment lodgment preparation approval presettlement and postsettlement tasks following templates as needed
- Managing and assisting existing clients with requests (e.g. repricing refixing loans loan variations)
- Handling adhoc projects including setting up process guides system upgrades and automation projects and training junior mortgage broking assistants and loan processors when required
Loan Processing:
- Chasing lenders for status updates and keeping the broker and applicant informed
- Chasing valuation status updates
- Handling administration tasks fielding calls from applicants and managing emails for the group and personal mailbox
- Preparing postsettlement activities
- Handling any rework required
- Booking appointments and managing calendars and travel schedules
- Providing marketing sales and operational support (when required)
- Keying information into the brokers CRM and keeping records up to date
- Attaching scanned files to CRM records
- Assisting with lead generation marketing sales and operational tasks (when required)
Requirements
LoanApproved Skills and Experience
- College degree (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of endtoend Australian loan processing experience (preferred)
- Experience using Mercury Nexus CRM and Apply Online (AOL) is ideal
- Familiarity with Australian residential or commercial mortgage processing personal/car loan experience is considered
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Ability to assess complex loan applications and analyze Australian financial statements
- High proficiency in Excel Word and webbased processing systems
- Excellent phone manner with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with MyCrm software is an advantage
- Proactive and able to resolve issues independently
- Australian mortgage broker experience is essential (if not junior roles may be considered)
