Job Description
The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in Prof. Ruben Martns research group.
ICIQ is one of the worlds internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis Renewable Energy and Health. Tasks and Responsibilities:
- The candidate will take care of the analytical equipment in the laboratory assist in maintain high level of work quality ensure safety quality and efficiency of the crew and negotiate costs with suppliers and clients.
Requirements:
- The candidates must have a PhD in chemistry
- We are looking for a candidate with a solid and proven expertise as a technician laboratory maintenance expertise in repairing conventional laboratory equipment (HPLC GC Glovebox photoreactors) and that has given support of a large research group in the field of chemistry.
- The candidates must submit the following documents: (a) a CV (specifying any relevant experience along with a detailed description of previous accomplishments); (b) a cover letter highlighting the interest in the position the reasons for applying to our group his/her particular strengths & weaknesses future career plans hobbies selfmotivation and ability to work on a team; (c) names and contact addresses of two referees that might be willing to write down a recommendation letter
Valued qualities:
- Candidates must have a proven record in giving support as a technician to a large research group in the field of chemistry and with experience in maintaining and repairing conventional equipment in a chemicallyoriented research group such as HPLC GC Glovebox an photoreactors
- Capable of working in a team and decision making
- He/she should be a motivated openminded dynamic and capable of working on a international team with different nationalities and cultures.
- Strong commitment for scientific research in a competitive environment
We Offer:
- A permanent fulltime employment contract.*
- Remuneration according to individuals qualification/experience
- Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.
- Incorporation: December 2024.
* Structural position resulting from the ordinary reposition quota for 2024.

Selection Process
ICIQs selection process usually entails the following phases:
- Preselection: The preselection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates CVs.
- Interview & practical exercise: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
- Offer Letter:Once the successful candidate is selected the People Unit will extend a Job Offer specifying the start day salary and overall job conditions.
