Job Description

Position Overview:

The Food & Beverage Captain at Raffles and Fairmont Doha will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction. This role involves leading the F&B team coordinating with other departments and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and lead the F&B team providing guidance training and support.
    • Assign duties and responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth operations.
    • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
  2. Guest Service:

    • Ensure that all guests receive prompt courteous and professional service.
    • Address and resolve guest complaints and issues efficiently.
    • Maintain a strong presence on the floor interacting with guests to enhance their dining experience.
  3. Operational Management:

    • Oversee the setup operation and closing procedures of the restaurant.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness hygiene and safety standards in the dining area.
    • Ensure that all equipment and facilities are in good working condition.
  4. Order and Inventory Management:

    • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
    • Assist in managing inventory levels placing orders and receiving supplies.
    • Monitor stock levels and minimize waste.
  5. Training and Development:

    • Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.
    • Ensure team members are knowledgeable about menu items specials and promotions.
    • Provide feedback and coaching to improve performance and service standards.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of daily operations including sales expenses and guest feedback.
    • Prepare and submit reports to the F&B Manager as required.
    • Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the F&B department.

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management Food & Beverage Management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of F&B operations including food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain composed under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
